Aerospace / Military

As experts in product development for regulated environments, SIM Solutions is experienced with requirements for military specifications and FAA certification. Our proven systems engineering techniques may be applied to virtually any aerospace or military project. We assist clients with defining concepts of operation (CONOPS), writing system and subsystem requirements, performing risk analysis, conducting design failure modes and effects analysis, and establishing the required safety systems needed to mitigate single-point failures. We help clients navigate the complex rules for Mil-Spec, FAA RTCA /DO-160, or DO-178 requirements.

Our staff has extensive experience supporting military and aircraft electromechanical systems. We help clients design environmental control systems, ice protection systems, airborne liquid cooling systems, oxygen systems, engines / powerplants, and flight control systems. As systems engineering experts, we are intimately familiar with the complexities associated with coordinating design activities across several subcontractors and prime contractors. We work with clients and their partners to define the proper interfaces between each subsystem under development, while maintaining a focus on safety, performance, cost, and usability.

To assist with system design, SIM Solutions has technical expertise in thermal analysis, pressure drop analysis, data acquisition, requirements traceability, and specialized testing. As the design begins to evolve into finished hardware and software, our staff will ensure the final design meets the defined requirements by conducting simulations, performing ground tests, and participating in flight tests. Our familiarity with the harsh environments and strict regulations required for aerospace and military applications is essential to help our clients develop safe, effective, and high performing aerospace and military systems.
